Indo.com launches turboHOTEL turbocharging room distribution with Internet technology

Jakarta - February 13, 2001. - Indo.com, http://www.indo.com, today in a Seminar at the Bali International Convention Center (BICC), launches turboHOTEL, a travel industry business-to-business Internet engine for managing room distribution. The Seminar, titled "turboHOTEL: turbocharging your room distribution using Internet technology", is attended by close to 100 General Managers and Directors of Sales and Marketing of most of the star hotels in Bali.

turboHOTEL is indo.com's latest innovation in deploying Internet technology for the hotel industry, designed with a single purpose: making life easier for hoteliers to manage their room distribution through all their existing channels. All channels means just that: ALL - including the few wholesalers who are buying thousands of room nights from you, the hundred retail travel agents that you have worked with worldwide, the numerous web sites that invite you to join them for commission only, and of course, your own privately labeled web site.

What does turboHOTEL do? "In short, turboHOTEL is an Internet-based engine that allows you to manage your room allotments and rate allocations to everybody in your distribution chain," said Eka Ginting, CEO of indo.com, commenting on the new room distribution engine. "All using Internet technology. All seamlessly integrated."

turboHOTEL allows hotels to specify multiple channels of distribution, from wholesalers to retail travel agencies - with existing relationship or to be acquired through general portals - to the general public. Hotels can assign different room allotments, with different rates and cancellation policies. turboHOTEL server is located in our Internet data center, leveraging a highly secured facility and maximum availability of the system. With turboHOTEL, hotels are fully in control of their room inventory, with the flexibility of real-time price and availability adjustments and modifications. This will greatly enhance the relationship with the hotels distribution channels. And yield maximization becomes natural

On the buyers' side, turboHOTEL lets buyers who are either direct consumers or intermediaries like travel agents or travel portals to make reservation via the Internet in real time. Using a web browser, buyers can check the properties of hotel room (such as availability, rates and features) and purchase the hotel rooms. Except for predefined public information, access is strictly members only, with password protection to ensure that one agent will only see and use the allotments and rates intended for that particular agent.

Furthermore, technology itself is only part of the innovation. Applying Internet new business model, the application will be available for hotels practically for FREE. turboHOTEL application is deployed in an ASP model, allowing a pay per use payment scheme. Thus, for hotels to deploy turboHOTEL, they will not face the burden of huge up front cost normally associated with owning state-of-the-art technologies. Cost will also be directly related to business volumes, allowing companies to directly match the cash flow requirement of their operations.

Even prior to the launch, about 25 hotels in Bali have strongly indicated their interest in deploying turboHOTEL for their properties. "Instead of paying a traditional distribution engine US$ 3 booking fee and 10% commission, on top of a US$ 25,000 to sign up and US$ 15,000 per year, turboHOTEL provides all the functionalities and more for a small fraction of the cost, " comments one General Manager privately.

turboHOTEL is open to any size hotel and is immediately available to any hotel. For inquiry please contact antonius@indo.com.
